There is a worldwide issue surrounding homelessness. People are without proper protection, sanitation, and basic human needs. Being homebound during the pandemic, I became immersed in news about this topic and grew ever more aware of how severe this issue is and how it stems from a lack of government and community involvement. Unfortunately these veterans, after serving our country struggle with a multitude of things such as PTSD, social isolation, lower income, etc that cause them to be more prone to homelessness.

My hope to alleviate this situation is to provide these people with more necessities and work with them as individuals; With their help, I hope to photograph and showcase the portraits to educate the public on their conditions and promote further support and funding to alleviate these veterans living situations. This project will not only fundraise for more supplies and bring awareness, but it will also involve a unique and personal connection to the veterans and the outside community - allowing for a more meaningful effort to help
